Why a water filter makes sense
Drinking water is a valuable resource, and we should consume 2 to 3 liters per day. Fortunately, it’s readily available from the tap in most places – and carefully regulated.
However, the taste can vary depending on the substances dissolved in the water. A water filter system with activated carbon reduces many of these substances, such as chlorine and organic compounds⁴, which can affect taste and odor.
Filter smarter. Waste less.
Depending on your needs, the right filtration can do more than improve taste. An ion exchange process helps reduce metals like lead and copper if present in your tap water, while also limiting limescale buildup – meaning less descaling for appliances like kettles. Whatever your priorities, there’s a BRITA filter to match.
Filtering your tap water also helps cut down on waste. One MAXTRA PRO cartridge filters up to 150 liters, while an ON TAP V-MF cartridge lasts for up to 500 liters. Plus, you skip the hassle of carrying heavy packs and frequent shopping trips.
When to replace your water filter cartridge
To ensure consistently freshly-filtered water, your BRITA filter cartridge should be replaced regularly. How often depends on the filter type and your usage:
With the MAXTRA PRO LIMESCALE EXPERT or MAXTRA PRO PURE PERFORMANCE, you can filter up to 150 liters of water – but it should be replaced after four weeks at the latest.
For best hygiene, we recommend storing your filtered water in the fridge to help prevent the formation of germs.
If you prefer an even more convenient solution, consider our tap-mounted filtration systems. These only require a cartridge change every six months (A 1000) or even just once a year (P 1000).
