Yes, you can also use the app without our BRITA LARQ iQ bottle. Note that you can only calculate your hydration target and add drinks manually. Automated hydration tracking is not possible.

DO NOT connect your iPhone and the bottle lid via iOS Bluetooth, the app searches for the bottle and connects automatically.

Make sure your bottle is the ONLY unconnected active BRITA LARQ IQ bottle within range. At this point, the app does not know which bottle is your and connects to the first bottle it recognizes. Once your account is connected to the bottle, the app will automatically connect to that bottle whenever the app opens and the bottle is within range.

The app remains connected to the bottle in the background. If you want to disconnect, close the app.

The bottle can only be connected to one device or app at a time.

The bottle is identified in the Bluetooth devices by the name in the format LARQ_xxxxxxxx (e.g. LARQ_IDiZS0u7EUu).

Open the BRITA app. Select the Device menu in the menu bar below. Click on "Add new device". Make sure you have an internet connection, Bluetooth is enabled, and your bottle is near your phone. Follow the process described in the app:

• Allow Bluetooth
• The ""search"" for the bottle is started. Once found, it is paired and added.
• Customise your bottle (name, color, size and filter usage).

At the end, the message “Your connection was successful” appears. You can start your hydration journey!

Make sure you have an internet connection, Bluetooth is enabled, and the bottle is near your phone.

Step 1: Download the BRITA app from the Apple app store.

Step 2: Log in or register. If you already have a MyBRITA account, you can log in using your login details. Or you can set up a new account.

Step 3: Use the BRITA app for hydration tracking. You will be guided through the onboarding process to a) connect your BRITA LARQ iQ bottle to the Synced Hydration Tracking app (If a pop-up appears asking if the LARQ bottle is allowed to use your Bluetooth connection, please click OK). And b) define your daily hydration goal. After successfully connecting the bottle, you can start your hydration tracking!

We determine your daily water intake based on your body weight, and adjust it for factors like age, sex and your activity level. This helps ensure you stay properly hydrated every day! Note: The app is not intended for the individual diagnosis of health complaints, nor for nutritional counselling, nor does it replace medical treatment.

• Tracking: The BRITA LARQ iQ bottle tracks your water intake and stores it in the BRITA app. Manually supplement coffee, tea or other drinks to achieve your hydration goal. Check your progress in the app at any time and establish a better drinking habit!
• Filtration: Keep an eye on your filter status and replace it in good time.
• Reminders: Never forget to drink again – the light ring of the BRITA LARQ iQ bottle automatically reminds you in your chosen time window when you have not drunk from your bottle.
• Shop: Made easy: Access the BRITA shop directly via the app menu and order new filters and accessories quickly and easily.

You can add multiple bottles to your account. All linked bottles send the beverage logs to your hydration dashboard, so you have a holistic view of your water intake.

Yes! You can use the BRITA LARQ iQ bottle without a filter. You may remove the filter straw completely if you prefer to swig or waterfall your beverage, or simply remove the filter from the filter pod and continue to use with the straw.

The selected day is visually highlighted and drives the rest of the dashboard content.

Users can swipe left or right on the weekly strip to navigate between weeks. Swiping left brings up the previous week, and swiping right shows the next week.
When the user taps on the date in the hydration dashboard header, a full calendar picker appears as an overlay, allowing the user to select any past or current date. The default calendar view shows the current month, and the user can navigate between months and years using arrows or a native picker.  The first day of the calender is 01.01.2025 and the last possible selectable day is dynamically today's date.

The Dashboard data updates automatically based on the newly selected date. If no data for that selected date exists, the empty state is shown.

If the selected day is not today, a “Today” pill appears for easy navigation back.

Go to “Profile” and click on “Hydration target”. Here you can adjust your daily water intake goal.

Users have the ability to request deletion of their MyBRITA account. This functionality is accessible through the Profile section of the app, where selecting the “Delete Account” option allows users to initiate the deletion process themselves. As the deletion is handled externally, the app itself does not process or store any user data related to the deletion request. To complete the account deletion, users are instructed to send an email to appdatapolicy@brita.net with the subject line “BRITA APP request for MyBRITA Account Deletion”.

The cap has a built-in sensor for hydration tracking. After filling the bottle and screwing on the cap, place the bottle on a flat table. The cap will glow a white light indicating that a measurement has been taken; this can take up to 5 seconds after placing it on the table.
Hydration tracking works best with cold or room-temperature liquids. Hot liquids will fog up the sensors and tracking will not be accurate.

In the ""My progress"" field, you see a line chart that compares the fluid intake for the selected day with the average intake in the past (last 30 days):

• The dark blue line represents the fluid intake of the current day.
• The lighter blue line, represents the average daily hydration over the previous period of the last 30 days.

The average calculation is carried out as follows: (Sum of hydration values on active days) ÷ (number of active days in the last 30). This average line is displayed from the time the first exposure is registered. At this point, it is not yet visible, as it is behind the current fluid intake. This means that at least one day must pass and the fluid intake of the next day must be different from the exact average in order for the line to be visible.

If there is no beverage protocol for the last 30 days, an average cannot be determined and the display is set to 0 ml by default.

The chart is dynamically updated as the date changes

The central visual section of the hydration dashboard displays two connected components:

• A hydration arc (circular progress ring)
• A bar chart displaying hourly intake volumes

The hydration arc visually represents the user’s current intake as a percentage of their daily hydration goal (e.g., “1236 / 1995 mL = 62%”), filling accordingly.
Beneath it, the bar chart shows a time-of-day breakdown of drinks logged. Each vertical bar represents the volume consumed within a specific hourly window.

Both visuals update dynamically when new drinks are logged or a different day is selected.

"Current Streak" card shows how many consecutive days the user has reached or exceeded his fluid target.
If the user skips a day or logs less than 100%, the series is reset to 0%. This value is recalculated each time hydration data is updated or a new day begins.

If a user changes their drinking destination, this only affects the calculation from the day of the change, while for the past days, the drinking destination set at that time is taken into account.
If no drinking destination has been reached, the map displays "0 days".
If the user deletes his drinking entries on a day in the past and his hydration value fell below the hydration target on that day, we recalculate and update the success series.

“Personal Best” card displays the longest series of consecutive days when the user has reached or exceeded their daily drinking goal. Unlike the current series, which resets when a goal is missed, the personal best performance reflects the user's all-time record - a motivating measure to strive for.
This value is updated only if the current time span exceeds the saved personal best; in this case, the map is updated accordingly. The series is calculated according to the same logic as the current series: Counting per day is only counted if the fluid target is 100% or more. It is only updated when a new record is set and remains unchanged regardless of any subsequent changes or deletions in the drinking history.
If the user has never reached a complete daily goal, the map displays "0 days".

The hydration dashboard includes a Mon–Sun weekly picker at the top, where each day is represented with a hydration arc encircling the date. These arcs visually represent the percentage of the hydration goal reached on that day. Each day’s arc fills proportionally based on the hydration progress, and if the goal is reached or exceeded, a checkmark appears inside the arc.
The hydration arcs update live as hydration data is synced.

In the donut chart I see a breakdown of all the fluids I drank the selected day so that I can better understand what types of beverages I’m consuming. It is shown when there are two or more drink categories logged for the selected day.
The chart visually represents the distribution of intake by main drink categories (e.g., Water, Cold beverages, Hot beverages), with each colored segment proportional to that category’s volume share.
Below the chart, a list displays:

• Category name (e.g., Cold beverages) with a colored dot
• Drink types (e.g., Juice)
• Volume per category and type
• Percentage of total intake per category and type (rounded)
• The center of the chart shows total fluid intake for the selected day.

If only one drink type exists, the donut chart is not shown.
Day can be selected at the top of the screen in the calender.

The following points ensure and show you that hydration tracking is being performed on your BRITA LARQ iQ Bottle:

The LED ring lights up to indicate that a measurement has been taken.
Your bottle must be placed on a flat surface for approx. 2-5 seconds after each measurement, after filling and drinking. The lid must be closed.
Opening and closing the lid triggers a measurement.
If your drink amount is too little, you will need to drink several times. Once a minimum amount has been reached, everything is transferred to your hydration dashboard.

Google Health integration is currently not available.

Yes. Open the Apple Health app → Profile → Apps → BRITA → Allow access.

The app is available in several languages.
The default language follows your phone settings. The language cannot be changed inside the app.

To deactivate this, open the Apple Health app, tap on your profile, go to Apps > BRITA and deactivate access.

We store your data until your rejection or until your account is deleted.
