Charge your BRITA LARQ iQ with the provided USB-C cable. This is located on the side of the lid.

Clean the bottle, the lid, and the straw (including the adapter) regularly with mild detergent or in the dishwasher.

Rinse the bottle with warm soapy water at least once a month (for example, while your BRITA LARQ Cap iQ is charging) for a quick reset.
Wipe the outside of the bottle with a clean, damp cloth. Never use strong cleaning sprays or liquids or similar chemicals. The bottle body is dishwasher-safe.

1. Charging the bottle
   Connect the included USB-C charging cable. Once the cap lights up, the BRITA LARQ iQ bottle is activated. The battery is fully charged when the green light stays on continuously.
2. Downloading the BRITA app
   Follow the instructions in the app and set up your personal drinking profile.
3. Cleaning & hygiene
   Using a mild detergent, clean the bottle cap and straw (including adapter) before first use. Repeat the process every week. Rinse the bottle with warm soapy water at least once a month, for example while the cap is charging. The bottle cap is not dishwasher-safe.
4. First use of the filter
   - Hold the filter under cold running water for 10 seconds.
   - Insert the filter into the housing with the opening facing the straw.
   - Close and tighten the lower part of the housing, attach the straw to the cap using the adapter.
   - Observe the maximum water filling level to ensure optimal performance. The bottle is not suitable for use with hot water.

After pressing the lambda-button, the Cap iQ lights up and pulsates, indicating that the PureVis UV-C LED is now active. 

Press once for normal mode (1-min cycle), double-click for extra-strong mode (3-min cycle).

The service life of the PureVis UV-C LED in the BRITA LARQ iQ is 5 years.

The effectiveness of the PureVis UV-C LED decreases with increasing service life. However, with the recommended service life of 5 years, the effectiveness is always 100%.

One full charge lasts up to 2-3 weeks of use. If you activate the extra-strong mode often, it may deplete the battery faster.

The self-cleaning mode activates every 2 hours for 10 seconds to keep your bottle clean and odour-free.

Since it's double-wall insulated, there’s no need (and no benefit) to put the BRITA LARQ bottle in the fridge. To keep drinks cold, add ice into the bottle instead.

No, do not put your BRITA LARQ bottle in the microwave.

When the straw adapter is attached and the bottle is tilted for drinking, the water should only be able to escape through the vent opening.
Please note that you should not turn the bottle upside down when using the straw and should instead use the bottle in a neutral position.

It may be that the straw has been pushed too far into the silicone mouthpiece adaptor or that your mouthpiece has not ‘clicked’ into place, resulting in the silicone adaptor not fitting well into the mouthpiece and not staying in place.

Please try the following steps:

1. Remove the straw and grey silicone adaptor from the cap.
2. Remove the straw from the silicone adaptor.
3. Insert the silicone adaptor into the cap, be sure to press on the "wings" to the side of the adaptor and listen for an audible "click" once it is inserted into the mouthpiece of the cap.
4. Gently insert the straw into the silicone adaptor.

The particles on the outside of the bottle are due to a wearing in of the threads that occurs over the first several uses. These particles do not contact the inside surfaces of the water bottle due to the sealing gasket and can be easily removed with a light water rinse. The threads can also be rinsed prior to putting on the cap to reduce or eliminate this issue.

There is no hydration tracking and no self cleaning mode. The usage time of the filter is also not updated. Therefore, please ensure that your BRITA LARQ Cap iQ is always charged to avoid discrepancies between the actual filtration volume and the volume recorded in the app.
